Hi I'm Katelyn

Hi! I am an insanely poor, yet happy college student. I love movies, musicals, and traveling. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest of four children and I grew up living all over the country in a military family. Normally, I am a college student studying bilingual education. However, I am currently out of school serving as a missionary in Berlin, Germany for 18 months (ironic, since I have spent the past seven years studying Spanish). When I have free time, I spend it playing games with my family, reading the classics, crafting, and playing the piano. On a daily basis I battle with clumsiness, curly hair, and a mild addiction to dark chocolate.

Why I am a Mormon

Heavenly Father's greatest desire for us is that we have joy and the source of my joy is in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I just can't ignore the feelings of peace and happiness that come from truths that are only offered to me through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Book of Mormon offers me peace, knowledge, and guidance through the stories and testimonies of ancient prophets living on the American Continent. A living prophet who speaks God's will for His children today offers me real counsel and guidance for modern life. The authority for men to act in God's name, or priesthood, was restored by the Lord to Joseph Smith and offers me the opportunity to be baptized and make promises with the Lord that allow me to be with my family for not only this life, but for all eternity.

How I live my faith

You know, it is impossible for me to separate my faith and how I live because really, the things I believe affect everything I do. I love Jesus Christ. As I study His life and teachings, I feel His love for me and want to keep His commandments. So, in church, at home, at school, with friends, with family, at the store, at the park, in my car, on the lake, and everywhere else I am trying to do what I know my Heavenly Father wants me to do. My faith is not simply a part of my life. It IS my life.
