Hi I'm Ryan Porter

I'm from Colorado Springs and i work as a volunteer fire fighter EMT. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Colorado for 12 years and graduated high school there. Durring high school i was a big musician. I loved to play several instraments such as the Tuba, Guitar, and the Piano. I also love to sing. On top of all that, i love to be outdoors, hiking, biking, rock climbing, you name it. I am currently serving my mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints and when I get home, I hope to go to school to get my paramedic degree and my fire one and hazerdous materials certifications. After that i would like to pursue the cource of becoming an ER doctor. While in college I would like to get a double major in Pre-Med and Music with a math minor.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a wonderful family that was Mormon. My parents taught me all of the doctrines and principles of the gospel. It took a while, but I finally came to the conclusion that the teachings of the church must be true. I came to this through several spiritual experiences that i have had throughout my life. I know that through small and simple things, great things come to pass and that we learn little by little, constantly growing our knowledge of the gospel and constantly building our testimony. I know that this chruch is true. I have prayed to know and have recieved a witness that it is true, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God. I know that God loves me and knows me personally. I know that He answers our prayers. I know that Jesus Christ is our savior and that He died on the cross for us and that he suffered in the Garden of Gethsemany for our sins, for my sins, and that he was ressurected so that we may be ressurected. I know that the power of the priesthood has been restored to the earth in these later days. Without the knowledge and testimony I have, I would be lost and would not know the joy that the gospel brings and I would not know what I was doing here on earth, or where i would go. So in short, this gospel means everything to me.

How I live my faith

I am currently living my faith my serving a mission. Before I left on my mission I was a hometeacher, and secretary for my seminary classes. I would be the one to take attendence every time I had class. Other than that i didn't really have any callings, but i would constantly be sharing my faith and my testimony with the people around me and those i worked with. I also strived to read and pray every day.
