Hi I'm Drew

I live in Orem. I love music. I am a Mormon.

About Me

One of my hobbies and talents that I have developed over the years is drumming. I have been playing drums for over ten years, and it is a release for me. Not just because pounding on musical surfaces releases endorphins, but I love creating intricate beats and using my hands to create what I hear in my head. I eventually want to become an Optometrist. My eyes have had problems since I was little. I have worn glasses since I was two years old, and I had to wear an eye patch before that so my left eye wouldn't go blind. The doctors did a miraculous job on mending my eyesight, and I want to help others have the same experience I had. I am currently serving as an LDS missionary for two years in Cincinnati, Ohio. I believe that my life experiences and testimony of the Savior can help the people that I serve.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon household. At first, I had to rely on my family's testimony that this church is true. I have come to know for myself that this is Christ's church through my experiences in my life, scripture study, prayer, and obedience to God's commandments. Life is hard, and we have many trials. Many of these can come from ourselves (when we transgress), but many are thrown at us. These trials are a way we can progress. If we did not have them, we could never make that climb that leads to us achieving our full potential. There is always time to change, and to become what God wants us to be. It is up to us to initiate this change, but the change itself can only come through the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ. I love the Lord. I know that Joseph Smith restored the Gospel to the earth today. I believe in the modern day prophets, and also the prophets of old. I believe in what they teach. I believe that they have the authority from God to teach how to become as He is. If we listen to and live the words of the prophets, we will be greatly blessed. If we live the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we will be able to return to our Heavenly Father, with our families, and "enjoy the blessings of exaltation".

How I live my faith

My faith in Jesus Christ is strengthened when I am serving others. It is also strengthened when I study the scriptures. More importantly, when I act on the things that I have learned and really listen to the promptings of the Spirit, I am abundantly blessed with an increase in faith. I have seen miracles occur in my life, and there is no way for me to deny that Christ is my Savior, and that I have a loving Heavenly Father who knows me personally. Serving a mission has been one of the greatest blessings in my life. It is so refreshing to be able to put away "worldy worries" and to focus all of your time on serving the Lord. My mother has taught me how to be a man of faith, and she has been an amazing influence for me. If it weren't for her, I would not be where I am today. I want my life to be patterned after the living example of Jesus Christ. My goal is to always do my best to follow him and to obey the principles of his Gospel.
