Hi I'm Shelby Ware

I am from Kentucky. I love to dance, travel, read, and smile! I am serving a mission for the LDS church in Campinas Brazil!

About Me

I am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in Campinas Brazil!! :) I enjoy reading, dancing and listening to the oldies or some good ole Bluegrass music! As a senior in high school I became a Gold Award recipient, which is the Girl Scout's equivalent to an Eagle Scout. Members of my community from many different cultural and religious backgrounds joined together to construct a safe haven for women suffering from domestic violence. This project helped me in so many ways and was a blessing for all those who participated. I also enjoy spending time with my family very much and look forward to one day being wife and a mother. I have been in a wonderful relationship for two years now with my best friend in the world! We both decided to serve missions and fortunately when the Church changed their policies about Sisters serving at 19, our dreams became a reality much sooner than we expected! I am serving a mission in Campinas, Brazil while he serves his mission in Las Vegas Nevada. This is truly such a blessing for us both -to strengthen our relationship with our Heavenly Father, help His children understand the Plan of Salvation, and to prepare for all that our future has in store for us. I will return in October of 2014 and plan on gettin´married and going back to school to become a physical therapist.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I took Moroni´s challenge by studying the Book of Mormon, and praying to know if this book is the word of God. By doing this I received an answer from my Heavenly Father that this truly is His church. I asked questions, lots of questions...and time after time I received answer after answer. I have been a member since age eight and was sealed to my family as a young girl. I know now that as I keep my covenants and follow the Commandments, I am bringing joy to my Father in Heaven. I try my best to live each day remembering the sacrifice of His son, Jesus Christ. I know the Lord has restored truth to the earth that provides me the direction I need to return to Him. I love this great faith and know that because of how complete this gospel is, it is in fact truth. As I emulate Christ by following the words in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon, I can FEEL God give me a glimpse of His happiness for me, and that is true joy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like Christ. I know that by following His commandments and providing service for our brothers and sisters on this earth, we may all come closer to our Father in Heaven. Each day is an opportunity to come to know God. Over the past few years my faith has grown tremendously because of prayer. When we stop praying for what our heart wants, our heart stops wanting what we weren't willing to pray for and our faith begins to diminish. Prayer, service, and obedience has brought me the greatest happiness and has strengthened my testimony immensely.
