Hi I'm Aliese Joyce Withers

I am a school teacher, a world traveler, spoon collector, and puzzle maker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being able to look back on history and seeing the hand of the Lord. I am a history buff and I love going to places in the world and seeing where history was made. I am a school teacher and yoga instructor. I graduated from college this last year. I love cooking, dancing, anything outdoors, and being around my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church and what a great blessing it has been in my life. Through all of my trials in my life, through all of my doubts and questions the church has always been that sturdy foundation when my life feels shaky. I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true church here on the earth and that our prophet is the mouth piece of God. I know in the very depths of my heart that this church is true. It brings a sense of calm in a world that is so hectic and uncertain. I know that no matter where I am or if I have lost my way that the Lord is always there to listen, help, and guide us back to a place of safety. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the person that my Father in Heaven would want me to be, through serving my fellowman and being humble and having faith that all will be well. I have a personal testimony of serving others and how much I feel that Saviors love when I serve. Being one of the leaders in my Branch has taught me so much not only how to serve with other members but how to truly care for someone when you are putting there needs before yours.

What is the First Vision?

Aliese Joyce Withers
When Joseph Smith was a boy there was a religious awakening happening in the United States and Joseph, living in up-state New York, was in the middle of it all. Joseph was confused about which church he should join and decided to ask the Lord in prayer which church he should join. So in the spring of 1820 he went out into a grove of trees located near his home and offered a heartfelt prayer to the Lord. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and told him that he was to join none of the churches. This vision marked the beginning of the Restoration of the Gospel here on the Earth.
