Hi I'm Samantha Brooks
I'm a student. I'm a baker. I'm an artist. I'm a Mormon.
I am 20 years old and majoring in English at Brigham Young University. I spent a semester studying in Jerusalem, and the experience changed my life forever. I love to read, write, paint, and draw. I spend my free time baking (if I can avoid eating all the cookie dough first) and sharing my love of sugary goodness with others. I'll do just about anything to be with my four sisters and fabulous parents, but I prefer when we are together drinking Diet Cokes on the beach in 75 degree weather with the sun shining overhead.
I am a Mormon, because I know that the only true path to happiness is through Jesus Christ. His example of charity and love encourages me to do more and to act better. I am a Mormon, because through dedicated study and prayer, I have come to receive the answer that this is the Lord's church on the earth. I am a Mormon, because I know that the Lord has given us revelation through both ancient prophets and modern-day prophets. I am a Mormon, because I know that families can be together forever, and as we act according to God's will in this life, we will live together again in the next. I am a Mormon, because I find the greatest peace and blessings come in my life when I turn to my Heavenly Father and devote myself to be an instrument in his hands.
I live my faith by trying my hardest to serve those around me. Just as Jesus Christ served, I try to find ways to serve others, whether it be cleaning up someone else's room, preparing and bringing dinner to a friend, or leaving a note of encouragement. I try to get outside of myself and help others see the love our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ has for them. I am currently preparing to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lisbon, Portugal for 18 months. By studying the Bible and Book of Mormon and praying to my Father in Heaven, I find blessings in my life everyday.
