Hi I'm Miranda

I grew up in Southern Utah. I moved to Nevada at age thirteen. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am originally from southern Utah. While I was there I loved to swim, but that was mainly the only sport I did. I also played a little bit of softball on a church team for Young Women's when I was 12. When I was 13 years old I moved to Nevada. In high school I played soccer, basketball, and ran track for the most part. I graduated as Salutatorian of my high school class. After high school I went to college. I have finished one year of college and I am planning on going into nursing when I get back from my mission to New Jersey Morristown Spanish Speaking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but I still had to choose to be a member. This is kind of difficult for some people that are raised in the church because they just rely on their parent's testimonies for a long time. I also found myself doing this a lot when I was younger. However, as I grew older I was able to feel the spirit for myself. One of the first times that I remember not only feeling, but recognizing the spirit in my life was my first year of girls camp at testimony meeting. As all of the girls got up to bear their testimonies I could feel warmth inside me, and I felt tears coming to my eyes. I knew that what they were saying was true and I wanted to bear testimony of this also. As I got older I read the Book of Mormon several times and each time I prayed to know that it was true. I believe that my true conversion has come in small pieces, little bits at a time. It was not just one big experience that made all of the difference. Every day I have experiences that help to strengthen my testimony and further convert me to this gospel. Due to some of these experiences that I have had, or experiences that I have seen others go through I know that this church is true and I love it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving my fellow members, and my fellow community members. When I was in high school we would do service projects often in my youth groups for church. We would help out by cleaning people's windows, cleaning their houses or their yards, or just anything that they needed help with. I believe that service is one of the biggest ways that we are able to follow our Savior, because through service we are trying to be more like Him. In my Young Single Adults ward at college I serve as a Visiting Teaching Supervisor currently. In this calling I am able to check up on who in my apartment has done their visiting teaching, and how the women that they teach are doing. Through this we are able to help and serve the sisters in our ward and we are able to know when and what they need help with. I have been called to serve in the New Jersey Morristown mission and I am so excited to be able to go serve people there. I believe that service is the biggest way to be an example of Christ and to help others to come unto Christ. This is why I serve, and this is how I live my faith.
