Hi I'm Morgan

I grew up in Aurora Utah, love photography, am studying Child Development to aid in my goal to change the world.

About Me

I am 20 years old and just returned from my mission in Alberta, Canada! My favorite place in the whole world is on top of my house because I can look out and see all the beauty around me. I love photography and art. I play softball and I'm a runner.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but I remember one instance sitting in class in high school and I had this funny little thought, "Does God really exist?" It wasn't a question that bothered me or pushed me to do anything crazy, but in those years I was very fortunate to learn the gospel through seminary. The more I learned, the more I felt like it was right. There came a point where I knew there was a god, I was his daughter, and he loved me. That knowledge has brought me more comfort and purpose in life than anything else. I'm a Mormon because the truths that God wants me to know are found here. Those truths have brought me comfort in times of decision (where to go after high school, what to do, who with?), times of trial (through deaths of loved ones, overcoming sin, and change), and times where I was called on to comfort others. The greatest joy in this life can be achieved through the teachings of Jesus Christ. I know them, I live them, and I am so grateful for them.

How I live my faith

I guess the best way to live my faith is to love all those around me! Since returning from my mission I've found that I have been blessed with even more love in my heart for everyone I meet. I love to give and serve and help. My favorite thing to do is watch people understand who Christ is to them specifically and exactly how His power can strengthen them. I've been involved in all sorts of youth projects and activities. I also love to take the time to serve at the temples. I try to pray and listen to the promptings of the spirit as well as as study and learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are all kinds of little ways to live my faith!

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Many other churches feel that women are degraded and have an equal right to the priesthood as well as men. To me, that's not exactly true. Heavenly Father gave men the priesthood, the POWER OF GOD, but we have just as much rank and influence as they do. They hold the leadership, but it is with the help of their wives and the rest of us Sisters to help them out. This church makes me feel empowered. I know that I am a woman of worth and so loved of God. He has a special place in His heart for His daughters, and I have found that through the teachings of the gospel as well as the valient men that I have been so blessed to be able to serve with.
