Hi I'm Terra

I make dolls. I have red hair. I love pumpkin pie. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've always had a love for drawing. I didn't always know it, but once I realized it I was able to recognize how important it was to me. I won a poster drawing contest when I was in the first grade, and this is my first memory of finding drawing exciting. I took different kinds of art classes all throughout high school to keep me sane, and once I got to college I realized that drawing could get me somewhere. I also realized that I didn't want to take any other paths like science, accounting, or history. I knew from the beginning that I needed to major in art. Just recently I was accepted into the Graphic Design program at my school. This will allow my designing career to begin. I also highly enjoy singing. Choir was never my thing growing up, but I always loved to sing at home. My senior year I finally joined the A Capella choir and fell in love with it. That led me to being a member of an audition choir at college for the next two years. I love to sing wherever I go, and about whatever. Making up my own songs or singing along to real songs--it doesn't matter. Both bring me happiness. That's another thing. I love to be happy. I LOVE to be happy. I have found that I enjoy my life so much more when I find reasons to be happy. And everyday I always find reasons to be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

As I mentioned before, I have been a member my entire life. Some may question, if I was born into this faith, and raised with its teachings, how can I know it to be true for myself? The answer is in Christ. Our Savior is our Redeemer. He is my brother and I know that He is real. Some people have a "booming" moment of where it hit them that this is the true gospel. I have never had that moment. I have questioned my faith because I have never had an experience like that, but I have realized that I have figured it out another way. From the examples of others and the teachings that I have been taught, over the years my soul has been filled with the wonders and truthfulness of this gospel. It didn't all hit me at once, it came to me gradually, and has created a testimony of Christ that I am forever thankful for. I have chosen to continue being a member of His church because I have never found greater joy and have never felt more whole then when I have felt the love of the Savior and seen the workings of His hands. The creations of the earth are beautiful. The creation of life is beautiful. Miracles happen everyday and prayers are being answered constantly. I know that Heavenly Father hears our prayers. I have had multiple experiences where I have been in need of my Savior and I have prayed for the help that I need and that help has come. My heart is full of thanks to my Father and Savior above for all of the love and blessings they give. I am still learning and do not know all that I can, but I know that growing is a life-long process. I know that there is a plan, and I want to do everything that I can to return home to my Father in Heaven. This is the true church and I am thrilled to be a member of it and continue growing and learning about my Savior, and teaching about this gospel to others.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the LDS church my entire life. I know and feel the importance of attending church, partaking of the sacrament, and attending other church meetings. In the past I have had to following callings: Sunday School teacher, Temple Committee Co-chair, and a ward missionary. In a short time I will be leaving to serve a full-time mission for 18 months. I will be serving the Lord and teaching and reminding others about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is an incredible opportunity that I am able to partake in. Yes, I am scared out of my mind for what is ahead of me, but I also know that I will find such great joy in it. The gospel has blessed my life more than anything on this earth has, and I want to share it with those so that their lives can be enriched as well.
