Hi I'm Maddie Muse

I grew up in Texas. I go to BYU-Idaho and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a sophomore in college and I'm an exercise physiology major. I was called on November 8, 2012 to the Spain Malaga mission and I report on March 20, 2013. I love any and all sports. Mostly baseball (Texas Rangers!!) and basketball (NCAA only--Duke and the University of Utah.) I love running and working out and I ran my first 5K in September 2012. I love any and all kinds of music. I love classy and beautiful things, like Audrey Hepburn and Julie Andrews. I love musicals like The Sound of Music, Hairspray, and most recently Les Miserables. Before I die I want to travel all over the world; mainly Italy. I also want to bungee jump and sky dive, I also want to run a half marathon (at the most.)

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've felt the Spirit confirm to me that it's true. I grew up a member, but when I was 13 I had to gain a testimony of my own. I felt the need to know for myself. I knelt down and asked my Heavenly Father and I felt the strongest, most peaceful feeling come over me that the church was true. I continue to follow the church to this day, because without the gospel, I am nothing. It has brought me so much peace and happiness and so many answers in a world of turmoil. Our world is getting worse and the gospel has brought a lot of peace and comfort into my life. I see Heavenly Father's hand in my life every single day. I have a testimony, above all else, that our Father and Savior Jesus Christ live and that they love us. We are literal sons and daughters of God, and He wants us to return to live with Him someday. I know the Book of Mormon is true and if we immerse ourselves in the scriptures we'll be uplifted and edified and know of His love for us. I am eternally grateful for the gospel. It makes me who I am. It has given me a purpose. I love it with all of my heart and I love my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ with every ounce of my soul.

How I live my faith

I move back and forth between my student ward at BYU-Idaho and home every three months, so I hardly ever have a solid calling. However, whenever I'm home, I always get called into Primary and I love it! My first year of college my parents moved out of my childhood home so when I came home from college, I was in a new home, new ward, and complete new stake. Needless to say, I had a very difficult time being at home and in my new ward. I didn't know anyone and there was hardly anyone my age. I was called into Primary and I automatically felt like "part of the ward." I was able to teach the sunbeams and it has been my favorite calling! In my student ward at school, I've been the FHE mom, I was the first counselor in the women's organization we have, (Relief Society-favorite calling at school, by far!) and I've done a myriad of other things. I also helped my mom at Girls Camp and was in charge of the girls that are juniors and seniors in High School. It was a really great opportunity for me to meet girls outside of my ward and some of the younger girls. I've kept in contact with a few of the girls, and they've been valiant example to me as well as me to them. I'm so grateful for the opportunity I had to help at camp!
