Hi I'm Lucas

I grew up in Utah, I study mathematics in Portugal, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Growing up, I enjoyed learning about everything, especially science. When I was in grade school I made a difficult decision and decided I would go into a carrer in physics. I say difficult because I was interested in so many things. In college I pursued that goal and graduated in Physics at Brigham Young University (BYU). Now a few years later, I am futhering my goal by getting a master's in Mathematics in one of the oldest universities in the world. Along with the math, I adore music, learning about new cultures and customs, hanging out with my friends and with my family. I've seen in the past years how much I value my family because of the time I've been away from them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon and I love it. I have felt the love of Heavenly Father at various times in my life and continue to receive at times thoughts and feelings that help me to understand that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the doctrine taught in his church. I am grateful for these things. Being in the church, serving, and trying to be better really does make me happy.

How I live my faith

I love participating in the LDS church. Right now I serve in various ways. I serve as the pianist in our ward, which I enjoy quite a lot, this means that every week I'm playing the hymns in our meetings. My love of this calling comes from my love of music. I also serve as a teacher of the scriptures. This is a calling I much enjoy because it challenges me to learn about the scriptures in a much different way; by preparing and giving lessons it helps me become a better teacher and a more active learner of the scriptures. Another church assignment is to help those that in our area that have fallen away and become inactive come back to the fold. This calling is awesome because it encourages me to develop love for those people.
