Hi I'm Marissa

I am from Meridian Idaho. I am studying nursing at a university in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 5 children. I was born in Utah and grew up in Oregon and Idaho. I love music. I took piano lessons for nine years and now thank my parents for "forcing" me to practice through the rough spots. I also learned how to play the violin in middle school and took voice lessons. I now share my talents by teaching others about the joy of music. I teach piano lessons to help pay my way through college. I am studying nursing at a university in Utah. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to movies, throwing a frisbee at the park, reading, fishing, camping, hiking and visiting my grandparents. I love being surrounded by the people I love.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel provides me with inexplicable happiness. It brings me peace and gives me an eternal perspective of the things that matter most. Because of this, I see a bigger picture and am reminded of who my Heavenly Father wants me to become. I am a Mormon because the gospel makes so much sense. No one is required to believe what someone else believes just because they believe it. Everyone can feel the truth of this gospel in their hearts through the Holy Ghost. I have felt the Holy Ghost tell me of the truth of the teachings of the gospel. That is how I know. I have felt this and know for a surety that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints contains the complete truth of Christ's restored gospel on the earth today.

How I live my faith

My goal is to become closer to Christ daily and to work to attain Christ-like attributes. To live what I believe and what I have been taught since I was a little girl. I have seen the blessings that come from studying and exercising the teachings found in the scriptures. This gospel is one of compassion, service, redemption and self improvement. Even in the hustle and bustle of everyday living, the gospel gives me something to smile about during the hard times. I currently teach 3 year old children in my weekly church meetings. I love being reminded of the simplicity of the gospel as I teach them. We are God's children and we have the potential to live with Him and be like Him once again. I have been very blessed by this and in hopes of sharing this joy with others, I will be postponing my further education to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
