Hi I'm Heber

I live in Utah. I love preaching the gospel and learning different languages. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Utah and I am headed to serve a mission in Brazil this fall. I love the Lord and everything He does for me. I am grateful for the scriptures which help me to know Him better, for temples that give me hope to spend eternity with my family, and for the restored church on the earth which helps me serve and get to know Him better. I love to play soccer and table tennis, learn languages, sing in choirs, write music, spend time in nature, and preach the Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents taught me from the time I was born what they know to be true. They taught me by example, showing that they always read their scriptures, pray together, and write in their journals. When I was 14 I had many Muslim friends and I began to investigate Islam. I was completely confused. I started to seriously question the Church. After learning much about Islam, attending some Friday congregations, and reading some of the Qur'an, I was sufficiently desperate to know what the right path for me was. I asked my mom why the Church was true, and she simply reminded me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church on the earth with a living prophet and apostles, and has priesthood authority, restored by Heavenly Father to Joseph Smith. Those words from my mom had a powerful effect on me, and as I searched out more and more truth by both studying and having faith in God, I came to know the truth for myself. After I am married in the temple for time and all eternity, I want to also lead my children by example. In 2014, I returned from an exchange program in Turkey, where I was one of two members of the church in the city where I lived. The other member and I met about once a month, discussing how we were doing. I also used Skype to call the nearest church --250 miles away-- every Sunday for youth meetings. I tried my best to represent my faith by studying and applying in my life the words of the prophet and apostles of our day as well as that of the ancient prophets and apostles. It was an experience I will never forget, and I cannot deny that the church is true because of the grace I have experienced, which I know came from God, and not people. As I have returned to high school back at home, I will continue to live my faith and always defend truth because it is what God wants me to do.

How I live my faith

Church is a real blessing and gives me the opportunity to teach children the Gospel. Every week they really help me learn about Jesus Christ and remind me of childhood which is such an important reminder for anyone because we are all children of God. I absolutely love going to the temple and doing ordinances for dead ancestors who didn't get the chance while on earth. I love serving without anyone knowing it--that's my favorite. I love to listen to the Lord and use the gifts He gives me to help other people. I especially love to preach the Gospel in other languages. I am excited to serve the Lord throughout my life.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

I love Jesus Christ with all I have! He has redeemed me and has paid for all my sins. Because He is a Son of God and I am a son of God, I have hope because Jesus Christ has resurrected and conquered death. I can return to live with my Heavenly Father if I repent and believe in Jesus Christ. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Jesus Christ is who all of the prophets have testified of and are testifying of. Show more Show less
