Hi I'm Kent

I grew up without a church with good family values, and I found more with the restored gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as a Technical Writer, at a plant that manufactures machinery. I love bicycling back and forth to work and running out with the local missionaries when they need a member to go with them. I'm trying to follow a fitness regiment to over come my lack of fitness for some time. I am a computer gamer, but the Lord as be steering me more toward the Gospel and away from those games.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had relatives linger in the Hospital before passing, but this time with my Dad, it was quick and at home. I thought of it as a blessing, but I needed to find more about who did this for me. Some friends of mine were going through a rough patch, but they were vibrant and still quite happy. I asked them what they were taking, they smiled and told me it was their church. I thought about my Dad passing, and I asked about their church, within 15 minutes the missionaries were there. The Lord knew I was ready, and in 5 weeks I was baptised, happier then where I was before. Knowing that families should be together and I was following the life style of not drinking, smoking, or any kind of illegal drugs, I thought it was the best choice. Leaving behind Coffee and Tea was a bit difficult, the lord gave me strength to overcome these small addictions. Being a firm believer in kids after marriage, I thought that a church would put me in the company of others with the same virtues. Learning of everything I can, I find my life more complete as I learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Being a Ward Missionary, or official ride along buddy of the official missionaries, I love sharing my story with people that are looking for the Gospel in their lives. Seeing their changes as they learn reminds me of my own.

How I live my faith

I love learning of other faiths, as I learn, I find that we have more in common. I joined a bible study group from another church and they learn about our church as much I learn about Pentecostal Churches. We have a lot in common and I study the bible with them, you find that we have more in common than we have differences. Being a recent convert, the missionaries love having me along to share my experiences with a recent baptism. I love sharing the happiness the gospel of Jesus Christ has given me, more now than when I first learned of it.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Kent
It says a lot about a church when everyone contributes to their calling, paid in blessings and the love for a heavenly father. Some callings in the Church allow you to learn more and to help others you may not be able to have seen previously. Know the Church is powered by faith alone and not by people who are just to collect a pay check. They teach and lead for their love of the gospel, not for material wealth. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

Kent
Many people believe that is alright to just run around doing things they should be waiting for, some have children that never wanted and treat them as so. By waiting for that special someone, you know that they will stay beside you and help you raise a loving, complete family. Children are special and should be placed on a pedal in your life, not because of one or two mistakes, but you love your partner in life and your children see that. Show more Show less
