Hi I'm Hannah

I grew up in upstate New York. I am going to school to become an elementary school teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

At 21 years old I am the second oldest in my family. I love spending time with my siblings and friends. I have one older sister, two younger sisters, and one baby brother (I say baby brother but he's ten years old). It's amazing how quickly they grow up! Some of the things we do as a family are ice skating and swimming (at the local recreation center), playing board games (my Dad ALWAYS seems to win), and watching movies (recently my Mom and I watched not only the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice with Collin Firth but also Lost in Austin, and later I watched the Keira Knightley version or Pride and Prejudice). I am going to college to become an Elementary School teacher. It took me a long time to decide what I wanted to major in. Originally my major was Music and I planned on becoming a music therapist. Some of the other majors I considered were Psychology, Sociology, Health Science, and English.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this Church but that doesn't mean that I always had as much faith as I do now. When I was a little child I knew that God answered my prayers because I prayed to Him and had received answers. These answers weren't something that I could hear in the same way that I hear my Mom tell me about her day, and they didn't come from a burning bush or the appearance of angels. The answers came through feeling protected and safe; feelings of peace. As I grew older I came to understand the absence of these feelings. This came when I turned away from God and stopped doing the things that He wanted me to do. During my second year of College I really came to understand that the reason I didn't feel at peace was because I had turned away from God and had chosen to follow my will instead of His.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday where I attend all of my church meetings. I submitted an application in November to become a missionary for the Church. On October 25, 2012 I received a call to serve in Panama.
