Hi I'm Walker

I have lived in Utah all my life. I have been called to serve in the Torreon, Mexico mission. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy many activities outside. I love to rock climb, hike, snowboard, swim, camp, and many other outdoor things. I enjoy all sports. Some of my favorite sports are ice hockey, football, and soccer. I have played ice hockey since I was about 11 years old and have played on several different teams. I have also be snowboarding since I was about 9 or 10 years old, I enjoy hitting big jumps, doing tricks, and riding through lots of powder on the mountain. I come from a family of all boys. I have four brothers, three older and one younger then me. I have just completed my first semester of college and now am preparing for my mission. I really enjoy just hanging out with friends and doing something exciting.

Why I am a Mormon

I have not always been serious about the Mormon church. When I was younger I saw the church as something that didn't really have a large effect on my life, as i grew up in the church and it was difficult to know what it was like to be without it. I started to fall down a different path and I noticed that I wasn't very happy, I felt that there was something missing in my life. I decided that I would start to try to put an honest effort into learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I started out reading just a little of the Book of Mormon everyday; over time, the amount of time I spent reading the Book of Mormon each day increased. When I started reading the Book of Mormon I noticed an immediate change in my life and a happiness that I hadn't felt before. I started to recognize the many blessing that I had in my life and how important the gospel was. Since that time my testimony and belief in the church has only increased. I know now for the fact that the gospel is true and that without it I am weak. Although I had happy moments before I started to put effort into the gospel, I have many many more now and a knowledge of life that has truly strengthened me. I love this gospel and my savior. Through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I have learned and received things that have changed my life forever. I have been edified over and over again through the learning of gospel truths. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in several different ways. In my ward I have been called as president of a group of young men, I have been the secretary and the a counselor for groups of young men as well. In these leadership positions I would help plan activities and lessons that would revolve around our beliefs. In our church meetings i have given several talks which were prepared to help teach the audience about a specific topic in our religions such as faith, perseverance, temples. . etc. I am currently as hometeacher in my ward. As a hometeacher at least once a month me and my companion (hometeaching partner) visit families in the ward that we have been assigned to. When we visit our hometeaching famililes we bring a prepared message to them and ask how they are doing, how there lives are going. We try to be a friend and a helping hand. I have served on activity committees for our stake, these activities usually try to get everyone aquainted with eachother and teach bonding. I am now preparing to serve a two year mission for my church. During this time I will be in Mexico for two years and will be teaching the gospel to all who would like to hear, I am extremely excited!
