Hi I'm Devin

I love people, ping pong, and .....I'm kinda just a normal guy. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am currently a student at college, but decided to leave for a two year period because I want to serve the lord as his servant by going on a service mission. I love sports, especially soccer, basketball, and running. Most people don't understand why I love to run, and sometimes I don't either, I just like to go relive my stress and feel free by exploring the outdoors around me. I love music, the piano and singing kind of music. If my schedule would allow it, I would just be lost on the piano all day creating music. I like socializing with people, especially the ones that will allow me to talk with them. I also love to do random things with my friends, anything that will make me laugh. But most of all, I love my family. They have been so good to me, and supported me in everything I do.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born of goodly parents who were already members of the church. I grew up learning and loving the gospel of Jesus Christ, and gained a testimony of my own of the truthfulness of the gospel. I love living and participating in a church with such great standards, where I don't ever have to wonder if what they teach is going to make my life worse, it has done nothing but make me happier! I am also very impressed with the people I associated with in church, they always make me want to be a better person.

How I live my faith

Before I moved to college, I participated in playing the organ once a month for the general Sunday meeting. I also was a part of the youth group, in which we had fun events, served others, and bonded as youth. I would help my dad visit families in and not a part of our church, to make sure they were doing alright and offer our services. At college, I served as the secretary for the bishop of our congregation. I decided to serve the lord by spreading the gospel to others on a service mission, of which I will be leaving shortly. But the most important way I live my faith is by trying to make others happy every day.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Devin
It is really just a nickname, or 'slang term' for our real official name, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints". We have been given this name by others because we believe in a book that testifies of Christ called The Book of Mormon (Mormon is an ancient prophet). You might also hear the term LDS, which is just short for Latter-day Saints. Show more Show less
