Hi I'm Joshua

I was born and raised in Oregon for 10 years, then moved to South Carolina. I am one of 5 boys and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I like to play the trumpet and really love to build and invent different objects. I am one of 5 brothers and 0 sisters (bless my mom's heart), and I love Disney in general. I hope to be an Imagineer in the Disney company and hope to create different rides and effects for the parks. I love to read adventure, fantasy, and Sci-fi books. I want to be an Imagineer for Disney World, or at least in the Disney company and create roller coasters for families to enjoy together. I love my family and my friends and always find ways to help them and love them. I will sometimes build things and give them to my family and friends. I hope to continue to do that and to continue to increase in my imagination, even when it may not look like much.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because of the happiness and blessing I receive from following God's commandments. I have seen how the Gospel has helped me come closer to Christ and how it has protected me from heartbreak and from feeling depressed. I have seen what it is like to not live the Gospel and to not have the Savior as a part of others' life and my own life and it did not bring me lasting happiness that the Gospel and the Church gives. I have felt God's love in my life and want to help others to find it as well, so they can be at peace and can feel joy. :)

How I live my faith

I have been in a lot of leadership in my youth, in the Church program and in the Scouting program. I received my Eagle Scout award and am serving my mission currently in the Utah Salt Lake City Mission. I was born and raised by goodly parents and in the Mormon faith for all of my life. I strive to live by example for my brothers and want to help those in need. I am also currently serving a mission, which is where we dedicate our time and all of our efforts for 18-24 months in the service of God. No school, no family (except for emails and phone calls 2 times a year) and no other distractions. Just purely serving God and others and teaching others about His Gospel, which has brought me the most amount of happiness in my life.

What is faith?

Joshua
Faith is an idea or something that you hope for that may not be seen, but you that deep down it is true. When we have faith, it leads us to act on that faith to do something. In this case, we have faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. We have faith that the teachings of Christ are true, and as such, we want to follow him by acting upon those beliefs and ideas. In this case, we are asked to follow Him. Even though we may not see him, we know that these things are true because we have faith in Him and grow our faith in Him everytime we follow His commandments and follow His teachings. What do Mormons believe about family?

Joshua
Families are divine and help us to become stronger, not alone, but with people that we truly care about. We are helping to build each other up and to help us go through the good times and the bad times that life will throw at us. Since families are a part of what God wants us to have, He also provided a way for us to be together, not just in this life, but in the life to come. Through proper priesthood power in the Lord's house (the temple), we are able to be sealed, or be together, for time and all eternity. It doesn't even have to be just for the future generations, but can also be for our own ancestors as well. The reason for family history is because of the possibility of being with our family in the past for eternity as well. Only through power of the priesthood and in His house are these things possible.
