Hi I'm Emily

I'm an outdoors loving, adventure seeking, family focused kind of girl. I love my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a great life with a great family and great friends. I love anything outside, whether that be hiking, biking, climbing, running, swimming, sports, camping, snowboarding, or anything else that is outside! Especially spontaneous activities. I'm always open for new ideas and don't oppose doing anything that's active when suggested. I'm in college and I love learning. I'm a very independent person, unless it comes to hanging out with people. I love making new friends and being social settings where I can meet new people. I am 6 of 10 children in my family. I love being with all of them, even if it does get crazy when we're all together. I love the times we spend together. Especially all the games we play and the fun we have with those games. Never a dull or quiet moment in my family, and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon church. My parents became members at the age of 19 and chose to raise their children in this church. Although this has been a significant help to me in choosing to be Mormon, it is not why I am Mormon. I was raised by the teachings of the church and I went to church because my parents took me to church. As a grew up and went on to high school I started thinking for myself in deciding whether it was true or not. I was still under my parents guidance, so I never really found for myself if the church was true or not while living at home. It was when I moved out that was the real test of whether or not I know it is true. Through reading the scriptures, going to church, obeying the Lord, and continuing to pray daily without the watch of my parents I found out, for myself, that I did know this church is true. Examples of the friends I made was also a big contribution to my testimony of the church. I see everyday why this church is Christ's church. He wants us to be happy and I see happy people all around me who are living the gospel. I have felt Christ's love and confirmation that it is true. As I think back on my life, I have realized that I have never doubted this church. It all makes so much sense that I can't imagine it being untrue. I love this church and I am so blessed to be a part of it and have the opportunity to share it as God's missionary to His children that He has an unconditional and unwavering love for.

How I live my faith

The importance of attending church is becoming closer with Christ and getting to know Him better. I attend church every Sunday for 3 hours where I have the opportunity to learn about Christ and His gospel. I am the co-chair of a council where our main objective is help others feel welcome in the ward and to help them become friends with other members so that our ward is more unified in such a way that it is more of a big friendship rather than a ward. This is important because it invites everyone to return to church so that they can further increase their knowledge of the gospel. I also make it a point to read my scriptures everyday because in doing so, I learn something new that I had never known before. It helps me understand the church much more and helps to be prepared to tell others what our church is all about. I pray to our Heavenly Father so that I can talk to Him and thank Him ask Him for guidance in my life. Praying is speaking to God and reading the scriptures is God talking to us.
