Hi I'm Camrie

I love peanut butter. I love my family. I love Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love wearing flip flops! I love being outdoors and especially hiking, running, kayaking, biking or just spending time with my family. I also love to play racquetball and tennis. I'm the oldest child in a family of 6 and I love all my cute siblings and our adorable puppy. I'm a senior at college studying to become an elementary school teacher. I recently had a job as a recess aid at an elementary and absolutely loved it. Kids are so adorable! I hope to have a large family some day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who is very active in the church. While I haven’t had any huge or unusual life-changing experiences that have suddenly converted me, I have no doubt that the church is true. Even though I was only 8 years old when I was baptized, I still remember feeling clean and pure when I came up out of the water. Afterwards, my dad laid his hands on my head and conferred upon me the gift of the Holy Ghost. Since that day I have tried to live righteously so that I could be worthy of the companionship of the Holy Ghost. I know that Jesus Christ lives and knows me personally. I know that He suffered for all my sins and sorrows and that because of His atonement I can repent and live with Him again. I feel the Savior’s love for me when my heart feels warm and I feel peace and comfort. I am grateful that I can communicate with Heavenly Father daily through my personal prayers and know that He is listening. He answers my prayers through promptings of the Holy Ghost and when I study the Book of Mormon. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon and know that it is to word of God and can help me with my personal trials and questions. I know that the gospel was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith and that the church is still led by a living prophet today. I am grateful to know that we can still receive modern-day revelation to help us become more Christ-like and prepare for the second coming of the Savior. I know that because my family has been sealed in the temple that we can be together forever, even after death. One reason that I know this church is true is because I am the happiest when I am living the gospel. I cannot deny the blessings I receive daily while I am doing my best to live the commandments and principles of the gospel. The gospel really means everything to me and I cannot wait to share this message with the people of Hawaii on my mission and help them feel the same happiness I feel. I LOVE THE GOSPEL!!!

How I live my faith

I love Visiting Teaching! Last semester I had the opportunity to visit two girls in my student ward with my roommate as my companion. One teaching appointment completely changed my view of visiting teaching. My companion and I went to one of our girls’ apartment and shared with her the message we had prepared and then began chatting about our different mission calls. I told her that I was very stressed about trying to sell my apartment contract before I left for my mission and about how much of a financial burden it would become if I couldn’t sell it. I believe she was very inspired as she began comforting me and telling me that everything would work out especially because we were doing what the Lord had commanded us to do. I felt so much peace and comfort while listening to her and realized then that visiting teaching was a two-way blessing. While I had knocked on her door prepared to share a message with her, I left that day feeling that it was me who actually needed to hear a message. I am so grateful for visiting teaching and love getting to know the sisters around me and sharing our testimonies. I love to serve! I had the opportunity to serve on an Institute of Religion council where we could plan many service projects, spiritual programs, and fun dances and activities for the students of our university. I loved making new friends and helping others get involved in service opportunities. I have also been called to serve an 18 month mission in Honolulu, Hawaii which I am so excited for! I can't wait to meet the people there and share my testimony with them :)
