Hi I'm Cheryl

I am a young woman serving a mission Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Arizona.

About Me

Before my mission I went to college, when I return home from my mission I plan to major in medical laboratory science. Besides my love for science I love music and art. I am a Mormon! Currently I have left family, schooling, job, and dating behind to serve my Savior, Jesus Christ. I feel like I have such a great gift to know that my Heavenly Father know me personally and loves me. I know that there are a lot of people who do not know this and I want them to enjoy all of the peace and joy I have found in this gospel. I know that the same church that Christ organized when he was on the earth in his mortal ministry in on the Earth again. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and there is a prophet just like Moses, Noah, and Abraham on the Earth again today named Thomas S. Monson.

Why I am a Mormon

This church is more than just a religion for me it is my life. The knowledge this church gives that I have a Savior who understands all my pain and who loves me gives me so much comfort. As I read the Book of Mormon along with the Bible I gain a strong sense of much needed peace in my life among all the difficulties of my life.

How I live my faith

I have found that when I serve others I am the most happy. I love serving a mission for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ because it gives me the opportunity to serve others each day. I believe that we need to do more then just go to church on Sunday but that we truly need to try each day to become more like Jesus Christ.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mormons are supposed to help everyone. As a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I spend every waking hour trying to help others have the peace and joy that I have in my life. But everyone in the church is encouraged to help and serve everyone. Jesus Christ loved and served everyone, he did not discriminate because someone was different then Him. It is only by serving others that we can become like Jesus Christ. One of my favorite prophets in the Book of Mormon is King Benjamin. When King Benjamin was about to die he gathered all of the people in his land together to tell them what God wanted them to know. One of the best parts is when he talks about service. He said, " `when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

When we visit your home we will talk about how you can come closer to Jesus Christ and how His gospel can bless you and your family. We will help you understand that Heavenly Father has a plan for you individually and that he loves you. And we will talk about how the heavens are open and God loves us now just as much as he has always and will always love all of His children. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Families are so important to us because we believe that in the family we can learn and grow. Families can be a built in support in this difficult world. We are all part of Heavenly Father's family. By having a family on Earth we can understand a little bit better how our Heavenly Father loves us. We also believe that if we are faithful we will be able to live with our family forever. Our relationships with those we love most dearly do not need to end at the grave! Show more Show less
