Hi I'm Austin

I'm from Ogden, Utah. I served as a missionary in the Baltimore, Maryland mission. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm going to college as a full-time student. I play in a band. I hope to be a doctor one day so that I can use the talents the lord has given me to help others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because it is the only true church on the earth today. I know that we are the only church that receives revelation through a prophet. I am a Mormon because its the way I was raised, I've stayed a Mormon because I've come to the realization on my own that it is the ONE true church, and a I pray and commit myself, this only becomes more true to me. I know that Christ lives and yet he died for every one of our sins so that we might live with God again. I know that Christ is God's own begotten son. I know that God loves and cares for each one of us and that he wants each one of us to return to his presence. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and through his work we have the Lord's church on earth once again. And I know for a surety that the Book of Mormon was written by the hands of ancient prophets on the American continent, and was translated by the divine power of revelation given to Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being involved in my ward. I home teach others in my ward, by doing this the ward grows stronger by growing together. As a holder of the Lord's priesthood, it is also my responsibility to administer to the needs of those in the ward that are sick, elderly, or have fallen on hard times. I do this by being an instrument in the Lord's hands.

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

It is the belief of the church and its members that all human life is sacred. We were all given a specific time and family to be born into on earth. This was determined in the pre-existence, or the life before the one we are currently in. Abortion violates this pre-determination by interrupting the Lord's divine plan. This, however, is not the case in instances of rape or incest, because these are circumstances in which the Lord does not intend life to enter this world. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Men and Women have very different but equally important roles in the family and the church. It is the duty of the men in the church to preside over and be a guardian of the family. Women nurture and raise the children in the gospel and have the sacred responsibility of childbearing and rearing. Women also have the Relief Society, an organization specifically for the aid of those in the ward that have fallen upon hard times or need special attention from the ward itself. Show more Show less
