Hi I'm Sharon

My "empty nest" has been filled with 19 wonderful grandchildren. I love flowers and line dancing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Before I moved, my favorite thing to do was Line Dance. Now my joy is digging in the dirt and hoping my flowers will bloom in the clay soil that surrounds my house. I think I am "burned out" of making crafts until I see a new idea and then get excited about making it. I like doing genealogy research and have enjoyed it since I was 12 years old. I walk three miles a day, five days a week. I am pretty shy unless I am in a comfortable situation. I am a perfectionist and wished I wasn't. Each member of my family is my life and my treasure!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is an easy and happy life. That may sound strange if you have heard about all the "rules" a Mormon is asked to live. However, the "rules" or commandments are like the "string" that keeps the kite UP. Paying 10% tithing seems hard until you realize how many things the Lord blesses you with...even the air you breath. If I'm honest I don't have to worry about getting in trouble with the law. If I am chaste I don't have to worry about diseases, or hurting my husband and family. I love the organizations of the church. We have an organization for the young children, the youth and for the women and the men. This has given me a chance to grow and develope throughout my life. I have had the opportunity to be in leadership positions and it has helped me learn to serve and love others. I have never doubted that the church was true. I am so grateful for it in my life.

How I live my faith

Right now I am preparing to serve a mission. That is a little frightening and exciting at the same time; frightening because I will be leaving all my family members for awhile and exciting because I can share the gospel with others. I have always loved the Visiting Teaching program of the church. By being assigned to visit certain sisters each month I have gained many special friends and have had the opportunity to love and serve them in times of need. It also feels good to have a sister check on me once a month and be my friend. For many years I wrote a Christmas Music Program for my sister's Ward Christmas Program. I enjoyed creating those and have also written several Ward activity programs. This is a fun way to share my talents. Probably two things in my faith that bring me the most peace is reading my scriptures and the Church Ensign and working in and attending the Temple.
