Hi I'm Bret

I grew up on a cattle ranch in Wyoming. I am a doctor of internal Medicine. I am a Mormon

About Me

I have been married to my wonderful wife for 29 years and have 4 awesome children. Two of my children are married and one son is currently serving a mission. I grew up on a cattle ranch in Wyoming and continue to love the outdoors. I like to hike, fly fish, hunt, ski, ride my road bike, drive my sports car and go 4 wheeling in my Jeep. I served a mission in Japan and learned to love everything about the Japanese people and their culture. I am a primary care physician and really enjoy serving others through the practice of medicine.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church with parents who were active Mormons. I very much appreciated their example of good Christian living. They inspired me to want to know whether or not the Mormon Church was for real. I have been on a quest throughout my life to strengthen my own convictions. I am still a Mormon because I have exercised faith and asked my Heavenly Father if the Church was true. I have also gained a strong love and testimony of the Book of Mormon. This book has answered most of my questons about this life and my eternal destiny. I have also lived the precepts that the Chruch as taught me and have tasted of the blessings that living these Christ based principles has brought me. The Holy Ghost has witnessed to me on many occassions the trutfulness of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Mormon Church has brought me nothing but joy, peace and comfort throughout my life. I know that Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ live. I feel their presence in my life on a daily basis. I love the people in the church as they have served me and my family in many countless ways. They are far from perfect, but they are striving to be better people and to follow Christ. I love being around them and attending church each Sunday. I have never heard or learned anything from the Church leaders that didn't inspire me to be a better person. The church consistently helps me be a better man, husband, and father. In fact it has blessed me in all aspects of my life both temporal and spiritual. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Jesus Christ is my example and I do my best to try to live my life like he did. I strive to be a good father and husband and live up to the promises I have made to my Heavenly Father and serve him. I try to always have a postive attitude and reflect the joy that the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings into my life. I have always been taught to treat others with love and respect and to avoid judging others. I am working on correcting my own short comings and allowing Jesus Christ to heal me as I make mistakes through his loving Atonement and sacrifice he made for me. I have served in numerous capacities in the church including a Bishop to a wonderful congregation. I have spent many years teaching, serving and working with the youth of the church. I currently teach Sunday School to 14 and 15 year olds and love every minute of it. I guess I am trying to become more like Jesus Christ by reaching out and serving and helping others as much as I can. I still have a lot to learn.
