Hi I'm Matthew

I love acting, drawing, and writing; and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am currently a senior in high school and I hope to attend SUU (South Utah University) and be a part of their theatrics program as well as English/Psychiatric Department. I haven't really decided exactly what I want to do yet, but I know it's a toss-up between an author, actor, and therapist working with teens with substance abuse and behavioral issues. I spent the last year in therapy myself and would like to help people the way way I've been helped. I love writing more than anything in the world. I find it to be a great venting system/outlet and I feel I'm actually pretty good at it! Even if I don't become a multimillion-dollar author I'd still like to publish a few books in my life. I have a blog that I use to keep everything sorted and I have amazing friends that help me out with my stories. I am a fanatic for musical theatre! My favorites include Les Misérables, Wicked, The Little Mermaid, Phantom, and A Very Potter Musical. I hope to be a part of The Shakespearean Festival at SUU when/if I end up going there.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church so I have always had it around. My father was a bishop for eight years and on the High Council for another eleven before I was born. My family has always been really involved and so having all of them be there as support systems really helps.

How I live my faith

I am actively involved in my church YM (Young Men's) and mutual programs. Sometimes it's hard for me to hang out with kids my own age at church activities, but that's one of the cool things about the church: even if I don't feel comfortable with myself I know that i'm always included which helps me, become more comfortable with my self and others. I love sharing my testimony with others, i know that it helps them strengthen theirs and it definitely strengthens my own. I try my very best to lead by example and apply the things I learn in Sunday School to all of my activities throughout the week! The church has helped me form very strong and clear boundaries so I know where I stand with things, and knowing that helps me follow the commandments more easily. It is very satisfying when I do what I know is right and really builds my self-confidence. I don't currently have any callings but I love to volunteer around the ward/stake whenever I can and love to plan church activities.
