Hi I'm Ben Fleshman

I grew up in Idaho, attend Brigham Young University, love playing volleyball and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old, and I am currently taking a break from my studies at Brigham Young University in order to serve a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been in the Canada Calgary Mission, speaking Spanish, for over a year now, and It's the best thing I've ever done. I love to play volleyball and ultimate frisbee, and I am also rather fond of pastries. I keep a high GPA, and I enjoy learning just about everything (chemistry, history, economics, etc.) in my free time. I read pretty much everything that I can get my hands on (books, magazines, cereal boxes, etc.), but my favorite things to read are a little more antiquated. I love old books-particularly the scriptures and things written about the scriptures. My parents introduced me to the scriptures at an early age, along with all other types of literature, and have always encouraged me to read and to imagine. The told my siblings and me that we were capable of anything and everything, which has led us all to do our best in everything that we do. There are six of us children (5 boys and 1 girl) of which I am the fourth, and we are a happy family.

Why I am a Mormon

I simply believe it to be true. I do not remain in this religion because I love the people, the potlucks or the activities. I have prayed earnestly, thought it over, studied out the scriptures of God (both The Book of Mormon and The Holy Bible) and I can say that I have received a witness from my Heavenly Father that the gospel taught by this church is the truth. I believe that I can have my family with me for eternity; and that I can repent of any sin or transgression to which I may become privy, all because of the atoning blood of Christ. I believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, that Joseph Smith Jr. saw the God of Heaven and Jesus the Christ in that grove in New York. I believe in a living prophet, who continues to be a conduit for God's revelation concerning the world at large, and I believe all of this with the utmost surety that a man's soul can have. It is true.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This means that I am serving the people of Calgary, Canada, and I am doing my utmost to bring joy and happiness to them in any way that I can.
