Hi I'm Trevor

I live in Draper Utah. I am a return missionary from the Great Kentucky Lousiville Mission, and now I am a normal college student.

About Me

I am a student attending Salt Lake Community College. I like to cook and make things. My Favorite food is fish. I have a dream to go salmon fishing in Alaska. I love being active I like to hike it's so great to climb mountains even better than the climb is the view. I have an extreme passion for skiing there is nothing like hitting the slopes and going when the snow is fresh! I am a powder enthusiast. My mom growing up worked at a ski resort and I spent all the time I could skiing, Whether or not my family came I was up there every winter break and day I had off of school. I like guns & shooting, right now I am working on building my first AR-15. Growing up I wasn't very good playing sports with balls so I found the sports that worked for me. I got really into Tae Kwan Do and did it for several years. I got my Black Belt and hopefully can work on getting my degrees latter in life. I love hanging out with my friends we always had a blast. We usually spent our time just wasting time playing board games, talking, watcing movies and playing zombies on call of duty. My Favorite movies were the Batman series and the lord of the rings movies. I come from a Family with 6. 2 boys and 2 girls and my mom and dad, I am the third. I have a youger sister and an older sister and brother. Some of my favorite times with my family was our anual vacations with Disney Vacation Club. We always had a great time bonding as a family and enjoying life together.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know that our church is the true church upon the earth, That it was restored through Joseph Smith and that Prophets and the power and authority of the priesthood was restored to the earth. The Book of Mormon and excercising that Preisthood authority in my life has given me comfort in times of trials. Such as when my Parents were going through the process of the divorce. I found a peace that nothing else can give you in the Book of Mormon. I prayed to know if the book was true and i got my answer I invite you to do the same. The Book of Mormon can give you a peace that is not found elsewhere. The upmost important reason I am a mormon is because I have learned about my savior Jesus Christ by attending his true church. I have learned so much of his sacrifice for us through the teachings of his true church.

How I live my faith

I am a returned missionary of the church. I served a mission in the Great Kentucky Louisville Mission. It was a wonderful experience filled with great learning opportunities. I learned so much about our savior Jesus Christ while serving. I loved being able to share out wonderful message with the wonderful people in Kentucky/Indiana and will never forget the lessons they taught me. As a member of the church it may seem that the commandments restrict our lives but they actually enrich them as we strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ it gives us so many blessings and brings the spirit into our lives to comfort us as we go through struggles and trials. I live my faith by following the commandments which allow me to have peace and comfort in a world in which sin is ever destroying the lives of so many. life isn't about how how we climb it's about how far we bounce when we hit the bottom. My beliefs taught to me in this church help me do just that bounce when I have the the bottom and I feel I can't go on

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Trevor
After the Apostales died, the priesthood power (authority to act in gods name) was lost from the earth. As we see in the pattern of the bible it is through a restoration that the true church would be brought back. Though there were Many Reforming attempts by John Calvin, Martin Luther.... etc.. they saw the church's doctrines had changed from that of the bible and so they sought to reform or bring back. They Raised the question which of the churches are true. which is the very question Joseph Smith asked himself and recieved an answer from. His answer was the pattern we see in the bible that the true church had fallen away and that the church is restored to the earth and not reformed. God called Joeseph Smith to be the Prophet to restore His church and Authority of the priesthood back to the earth in these last days. Show more Show less

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Trevor
We are the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. To simply put it we are Jesus Christ's Church in these Latter Days. It is Jesus Christ that calls the next Prophet. The pattern it follows is usually the most Senior Apostle. The Apostle that has been an Apostle the longest. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Trevor
We believe the Bible to be the word of God. We use it and follow it's teachings. Our unique message is the Book of Mormon so we focus on that because that is how we can help others come closer to Jesus Christ and know that Joeseph Smith was called to be a prohet. I love the Bible and use it and it's teachings all the time it is a wonderful set of scriptures. The Book of Mormon clarifies certain doctrine that has been changed over time through the many changes to the Bible. Show more Show less
