Hi I'm Ally

I'm a sister and a daughter. I sing and play the ukulele. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah but, due to my father being in the military, my family and I moved a lot. I am the second oldest of six children. My parents were divorced twice, first when I was about 4 or 5, then they got remarried to eachother, and then divorced again when I was around 12. When my parents weren't together I was with my mom. I took it hard at first but by involvment in school activities such as choir and drama I learned and chose to be positive and happy. In high school I was very outgoing and learned how to make and keep friends. I was on Student Council and performed in the top choirs. After high school I got a job, moved out, and started college. It was pretty overwhelming and so I withdrew from my classes and conitinued working and living on my own. I have learned so many incredible life lessons as I have experienced the ups and downs of everyday life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of the peace and happiness that I feel from attending church and visiting the temple. I know that the peace that I feel can only be because what I am a part of is true. I have felt scared and confused in the past but, as I have gone to church and the temple with faith, prayed daily to my Heavenly Father, and sought repentance from the things that I have done or said wrongly, I have felt His love and forgiveness. There is no greater feeling. I know that the temple is the house of God and because of this knowledge I know that Joseph Smith is the prophet of the Restoration and that this gospel is true. I know that Christ lived and died so that I may return to live with my Heavenly Father someday. I know that the atonement is real and that as I take advantage of it and truly repent that I can be forgiven completely. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet of the church today. I have developed my testimony of these things over time and with faith and diligence in keeping the commandments. I am thankful for this knowledge and the opportunity I have to come to know of these things myself. I know that my Father in Heaven loves and watches over me.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the Temple and Family History Co-Chair in my singles ward. My co-chair and I organize trips to the temple for the members of our ward and also help others with their family history. I love to go to the Temple and when I am there I feel of my Heavenly Father's love for me. I crave the peace that I feel in His house and am always striving to be worthy to attend. I also try my best to be a good example for my younger siblings so that they too can attend the temple and feel the same peace that I feel when I am there.
