Hi I'm Rebecca

I grew up in the United States. I am preparing to serve a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I started going to college, but I'm taking some time off to serve an LDS mission. I am studying to be a nurse. My main hobby is music, which includes playing the piano since I was 6 years old, as well as playing the clarinet in my school's marching band (both high school and college). I'm not a very good pianist, regretably.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church, and it has blessed my life many times. I have suffered loss of loved ones, but knowing that their spirits are with me and that I will see them again helps me get through the grief. My faith has gotten me through a variety of hardships, from the loss of loved ones to the stress of college exams. It is hard to explain faith, but I know that this church is true. I wouldn't be where I am today without it.

How I live my faith

Before I moved last summer, I was involved in community organizations that raised awareness for abuse (domestic, sexual, emotional, physical, etc.). At my school a few months ago, I was taking a class that required service hours so I volunteered at a local elementary school. I currently do not hold any callings or positions in my ward/branch, other than being a pre missionary.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Joseph Smith is often given credit to having written the Book of Mormon, but he merely translated it. The Book of Mormon, much like the Bible, is a collection of records written by prophets of old, and has since been translated for modern day people to read and understand. Show more Show less
