Hi I'm Emily

I'm a daughter, a sister, a student, and a baking enthusiast. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life! I am currently a student attending Brigham Young University and I am loving it. My family and friends are a major part of my life and I don't know where I would be without them! My family consists of my mom and dad, four brothers, and myself. A lot of people think that being the only girl would be a little rough, but I LOVE it! I wouldn't trade those four rascals for anything in the world! Plus, it all evens out when my brothers get married. We have so much fun together and love to play games, go on road trips, and we definitely know the definition of FUN in my family! We can be so goofy and funny together! I also am an avid baker. I love to bake and cook and experiment with new creations. Naturally, with all the baking, I have to be a runner or something too, so I'm definitely working on that!;)

Why I am a Mormon

The most simple answer to this question is this: I KNOW it's true. Throughout my life, I've had my parents and friends testimonies to go bank off of, but there came a point in my life where I needed to find out for myself. I needed to know! Now, I do know. I can tell you that I have read the Book of Mormon and that it is truly another testament of Jesus Christ. The spirit that I feel when I read that book is indescribable! I know that all of this is true because I have felt it and I cannot deny it. I am so grateful for the gospel in my life! I have such a deep, abiding faith in Jesus Christ and this wonderful gospel that has been restored to the earth. I know without a doubt that Jesus Christ came to help us return to the celestial kingdom. He and our Father love us SO much that they designed a perfect plan to give us the chance to do so, even though it included intense suffering on the part of the Savior while performing the Atonement. Christ loves us so much that He wanted to be able to also feel what we feel so we could be comforted perfectly. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of Him and His sacrifice for us. I know that our prophet, and all the other prophets preceding him, are true prophets that have been called of God. I am SO grateful for them and for the fact that God has called mouthpieces for Him to give us direction in our lives. I have been comforted, guided, and blessed by their words. I feel so blessed to have the guidance of the priesthood in my life and am so grateful for it. I know I am a daughter of God with a divine calling. I know I am here for a reason and I know that my Father in Heaven loves me. He has been here with me every day of my life, and I feel so blessed to have been born in this gospel with knowledge of that love throughout my life. I truly cannot express my gratitude in words and I don’t feel I could ever repay Heavenly Father or Jesus Christ for the blessings and sacrifices they have made for me.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? I think that if you truly believe something, then it should show in every action of every day, and that is what I try to do. I attend church, help by volunteering in my community, and try my best to fulfill my callings in the church. Service is a big part of my life. I would almost say that it is the definition of who I am and what I love. I was able to take a trip down to the country of Belize a few years ago to help build a library and teach children to read, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Along with being there, we were able to attend church and teach them and also grow from their incredible testimonies. Service is such a huge part of this gospel and when you truly love someone, you serve them. That's what it's all about! Lastly, I have become a missionary of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and am serving in the California Los Angeles Mission. For the next little while, I will be spreading the gospel, which is so dear to my heart, with those people in LA and I couldn't think of a better way to live my faith! I am so thrilled for this opportunity and for the chance to share what has shaped my life and brought me true happiness.
