Hi I'm Matt John

I grew up in Belmont Massachusetts. I'm a college student at BYU-Provo and an Eagle Scout. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As of right now I am a college student studying pre-communications as my major. My main hobbies are both playing and watching sports, primarily football, basketball, and frisbee. I am also a huge movie watcher. In fact, several friends have told me I should be a movie critic. I also love to exercise like going on long runs and playing pick-up sports. I'm an accomplished singer (to some degree) and I absolutely love to sing.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been raised a Mormon by my parents so to be honest it's been easier for me to live by the ways of the church when I grow up in a family that lives by it too. It's only been the past few years that I've really thought about why I continue to live the ways that the LDS church want me to. I'm a Mormon because I feel that living the life that Heavenly Father has given me will make me feel truly happy. My parents have been married for 32 years and have had six children, and they look like they couldn't be happier that they live their lives by the way of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I truly feel that I can achieve the same happiness if I live the same way. However, it's not just happiness that makes me live as a Mormon. I also do it because I feel that living in this church makes me a good person and can make me a better person because I have standards in my life that I know I should abide by. Having these standards in my life help provide stability for me and because I believe in them, I feel that I will be blessed for following them.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping the Sabbath day holy and by doing necessary deeds to keep my faith strong such as praying and reading my scriptures. I also help the LDS missionaries who are in my ward out when they teach lessons to those that are investigating the church. I also go hometeaching to other members of the church so that they may be able to keep the Sabbath day Holy as well. I live my faith by attending all three hours of church every Sunday and I am a full tithe payer. I also participate in community service events that my church holds whenever they hold them.
