Hi I'm Lindsey

I'm a writer and a creative. I doodle obsessively and scribble even more. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've just graduated college and I'm looking for a job. I love to cook and to eat, I love all forms of art, and I love to write. I sing loud and often, I read more than anyone should, and I'm an eclectic fangirl. I am a child of adoption, so I have three families to call mine who love me. I love a little bit of everything, and I don't have to apologize for not fitting some mold. My ideas are all over the place, I have something like ten novel ideas going right now, including a series of Victorian spy novels, a florist who solves murders, and many little one-shots (at least they are so far). I have three blogs, am working on a cookbook, and have inspiring pictures tacked up all over my room. I love travel. I used to travel all the time with my parents, but I haven't for years since I have been in school. I'd like to start all over the UK and Ireland, then laze my way through France and down through the Iberian peninsula, then through Monaco and Monte Carlo to relive my James Bond fantasies and develop new ideas, maybe pick up an old spy novel idea, then see all of Italy and hop on a boat to Greece. Then next year go back, start in Berlin and cover all of Eastern Europe and end the summer in Istanbul. I love British television shows and American movies, from Doctor Who to the Avengers. I am the reason library cards have limits, and my life would be easier if more of my gifts were from bookstores and I had two more bookshelves in my room.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, went with my mother every Sunday since I can remember. But I chose to stay because I like who I am when I live the gospel. I like who I want to be when I try to follow Christ and his teachings. Not everyone in the church is perfect. Not everyone who shares the gospel does so in the best way. But I have seen too many good people here to turn away, and I have felt the Spirit of God too often to be offended by the blundering of men.

How I live my faith

I try to help others whenever I can because that's what the Savior did with His life--it wasn't all sermons and casting moneychangers from the temple. I try to remember that He sees us all as worthy of his divine love and treat those I interact with accordingly. I like talking to people in my church and neighborhood to see if there is anything I can do for them. To be honest, I just love talking to people, and some days having someone to talk to is the best thing in the world.
