Hi I'm Jake

I grew up in Northern California. I love adventure. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 21 years old, and from Northern California. I love hiking, camping, fly-fishing and just being outdoors. I am inspired by God's creations and the diversity therein. To me there is nothing more relaxing than getting lost in nature for a while. I grew up playing volleyball, but i love most sports. I am currently serving a 2 year mission in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been someone who is skeptical. I don't believe that you can truly know the good or bad of something until you try it out. I am a Mormon because I have received so much peace and guidance through the Gospel. I know it is true. One hundred percent. The hope that I receive from the Gospel is simply too much for me to deny. The fact that I can have an eternal family would be enough, but God has blessed me with much more. God has given you, and I, his Son. I have felt His presence many times in my life. I have felt the Atonement work in my life in times of happiness and times of bitter sorrow caused from decisions of others, and decisions made by myself. It does not matter what circumstance you are in; God has prepared a way for you to come back. His love is real and life-giving. God has also comforted, and has given me answers through The Book of Mormon, which was translated by Joseph Smith, a prophet of God. Truth has been restored. The greatest thing I have ever witnessed is the change in me that has come by simply experimenting with the Book of Mormon; to see if it was true or not. It is true. Every word. God is Good, and God is love.

How I live my faith

I like to think that my faith is exemplified in all aspects of my life. Right now, I try my best to serve the people of the Belgium Netherlands mission, but i know faith does not end with my mission . Raising a family centered on Christ is the best way to live your faith in my opinion. I am doing that now by learning how to serve and becoming self reliant enough to become the father God put me on this earth to become.
