Hi I'm Leisa

I grew up in New York. I go to school in Idaho. I want to work with the developmentally disabled. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in New York and live there when I'm not at school. I'm studying psychology and want to work with those who are developmentally disabled. When I'm not at school I work as a Subway sandwich artist. I play the piano and guitar and music is one of my favorite things in this world. When things get tough in the world I like to look for the good. Smiling and being happy are two things I aim for always. I also love meeting new people and learning about them. My idea of a perfect day is spending quality time with family and friends. I can't draw to save my life, but give me a craft project to do and I will be in heaven. I'm the oldest of three children and the only girl. If you asked me to plan a day and stick to it completely I would have a hard time because things come up. I like to be flexible and go with the flow.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was two years old my dad joined the Church and my mom was reactivated. I grew up being taught the principles of the gospel, but I didn't gain a testimony of it until I was out on my own at school. I started praying and reading the Book of Mormon and I felt the Holy Ghost testifying to me that what I was reading was true. I had rebelled in my past and became miserable, but gaining my own testimony and truly learning God's love for me has gave me the greatest of happiness. I know that as long as we are obedient to His commandments we can be happy and feel His presence in our lives. I continue to follow His gospel because I know it to be true with all my heart. I see His hand in all things and especially in my life. Through this church I have come to know Christ, my redeemer and learn each and every day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to treat others as Christ would. You never know what someone has been through so being kind and giving them a smile might be the only good thing they get in a day. At church I am a teacher for the 4 year old's. I have the blessing of being with these precious little ones for 2 hours and helping them learn of God and His love for them.
