Hi I'm Kayla

I love music and art. I play the clarinet and piano. I'm a big Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter nerd and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been a Latter-Day Saint all my life and have a massive family that is filled with love for each other. I'm a geek who loves comics, manga, Star Wars, Star Trek, and books like the Lord of the Rings just to name a few. I love reading and watching movies with friends and family. My idea of a great time with friends is sitting around playing endless amounts of board games, eating junk food, and just enjoying each other's company. I'm working on getting back into school and still haven't decided on what to major in. I love history, science, and especially humanities. I am currently serving the Lord on a full-time mission in the Nevada Las Vedas West Mission. I love knowing that I can help others find peace and joy in their lives by coming closer to Christ and that my purpose here is not about myself. Serving others is the best way to feel the love Christ has for each of us and I'm thankful for the opportunity to serve.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the church and the teachings within it have helped me in my life like no other thing in this world has. I feel a spirit of joy and a warmth here that confirms to me that this is where I'm meant to be. The teachings of the gospel have helped me strive to be the best person I can be and the Atonement of my Savior has given me a peace that nothing else in this life ever has. I feel at home here in this church and among the members here, regardless of the location the spirit of the Lord resides in this church. Where ever I am I know I have a place to go to where I can find peace and strength. The Book of Mormon has taught me so much about myself and the gospel of Christ and has consequently helped me to grow spiritually stronger. I've found reassuring words and guidance within the Book of Mormon that have helped me in various trials in my life and continue to help me now.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly keeping in mind that I believe in Christ and because I place my faith in the Lord I want to model my life after the example He gave us. It isn't always easy, that's for sure, but I constantly work on having love and patience for everyone I encounter. I keep myself out of situations that weaken my spiritual strength by exposing myself to things that degrade with language, glorify violence, and make a mock of the body and the God-given opportunity to be co-creators with him by having a family. I have found that by keeping myself from these things I have a stronger relationship with my Savior and can withstand trials I face with a spirit of confidence and trust in Christ.

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Eternal life is living forever with God and Jesus Christ. We can live in eternal joy and happiness in His presence if we are obedient in this life and prove ourselves worthy of such an incredible gift. God wants us to return to him and has given us guidance in this life so we will be able to do so. The way that has been prepared for us to do this is through his son Jesus Christ. If we come to believe in Christ and his Atonement; applying it to our lives and finding forgiveness for our sins until the end, we can receive the wonder reward of Eternal Life. Christ taught us how to follow him. Faith, Repentance, Baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End are the steps we can take to return to God's presence and life with him with our family, who can also qualify, for all eternity.
