Hi I'm Sarah

I grew up in several states in the US. I play the flute. I go to Brigham Young University-Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Sarah. I am currently a music education student at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I love music more than anything, and more specifically how I can use music to share the gospel and my beliefs. I have been a member of this church my whole life, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have moved around a lot my whole life, from California to Washington to Illinois to Texas to Utah. But again, I wouldn't change a thing. I have made so many friends and made so many more connections this way. I love being a Mormon, and I love sharing the gospel. I am serving a mission in a couple of months in Houston, Texas, and I couldn't be more excited!

Why I am a Mormon

Like I've said before, I have been a member my whole life. For the first several (like 14 or 15) years of my life, I relied on my parents to carry me to church every week and I leaned on them to tell me what to do and what to believe. There eventually came a time when I needed to find out for myself. In the church they teach you how to do this. Kneel down and pray to Heavenly Father. So that's what I did. And my answer? That it was true. Every part of it. So from then on, I decided to live it. I followed his commandments and I read my scriptures, and I went to church every Sunday. I admit, sometimes it was hard, but looking back on it, it was absolutely worth it. Throughout high school I was able to lean on the church and other church members to provide comfort and support when needed. And through other programs, such as early morning seminary (scripture study) every morning, I was able to receive a spiritual boost to help me get through the rest of my day. The church is true. I know it without a shadow of a doubt.

How I live my faith

Because I have moved so much, I have lived in many different wards, had many different callings, and served in many different ways. The coolest thing about this church in my opinion is that it is the same, no matter where you go. You will always have the same classes, lessons for Sunday school, the same setup of how the church is run, the same worship services, everything. As far as how I have served; I have taught the Sunday school lessons before, I have served as a leader in the Youth Programs, and I have been a visiting teacher, which means that I have been assigned a couple other women to go visit on a regular basis to check up on them, make sure everything is okay, and maybe even just give them a chance to talk. We all take care of each other and we make sure that no one gets left behind.
