Hi I'm Dean

I grew up in Colorado and I am studying Engineering. I love helping people out in any way I can. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a college student in college Architectural engineering. I played lacrosse and did coss country in high school. I am also in the Marine Corps Officer Course to become an aviator for the Marines once I graduate. I have one brother. I have had an opportunity to go on a mission trip to build two houses for two families in Mexico and loved every bit of it. I love helping people out and doing anything I can to help. I am serving a mission in Las Vegas now. I love it because i have the chance to help people come closer to God and Jesus Christ and also get to serve the people in the area for two years.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel began to make a huge impact on my life during my first semester of my freshman year at college. As the semester was coming to an end I was overwhelmed with everything. I was especially struggling with my grades, which really were very good but not up to the standard I had set for myself. The feeling of failure consumed me and became too much for me to handle. Over break I had a chance to talk with a friends grandpa who converted to the church. I got the opportunity to discuss with him why he decided to join the church and how it changed his life. To hear and see how he reacted as he talked about his life before and after his baptism was inspiring and encouraging. After my talk with him and with my return to school I went to church with a friend and it happened to be fast Sunday. I still remember the first testimony that I heard that day. It was about eternal families. At this moment in time I remember thinking about how if I truly love someone how I would want to live with them forever and not just in this life. After sacrament I approached the elders and we began to talk. They asked if I would like to set up an appointment with them to meet. As we met I began to feel happier, more open to and accepting of the world around me. The missionaries asked me to pray about being baptized. I prayed and studied the gospel which gave me the confidence and strength to do what I knew I needed to do. The next time we met I said I knew I wanted to be baptized.

How I live my faith

I live my faith making sure my calling is completed every week when it needs to be and also by doing what the lord asks me to do in the scriptures and to be a witness of God and savior Jesus Christ. I also share the gospel with family and friends when they ask questions about it, and now i am out serving a two year mission in Las Vegas to help others find the joy and happiness I found on my journey as I became a member of the LDS church.
