Hi I'm Julia

I'm a Psychology major, I love my family, I love my life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Maryland, and I think there is no better place on earth. I have two younger sisters, and I love them to the moon and back. I attend BYU, and I'm studying Psychology. I get incredibly excited whenever I get to share anything I've learned in my classes. I volunteered at a mental hospital, and loved every minute of it. I love studying people, and I love studying the brain. I love singing and making music with my family. I have a soft spot in my heart for Korean pop culture. I drove nine hours from Utah to California to see BigBang in concert. I love Charlotte Bronte and Jane Austen. I want to speak German fluently one day. I love baking, and Pinterest is my partner-in-crime. I enjoy writing, especially anything that rhymes. Puns warm my heart and my soul, like a cup of hot chocolate. I am currently serving a full-time mission in the gorgeous city of Colorado Springs. It has been the most amazing experience of my life, and I love all of the wonderful people I have met here. They have almost convinced me to be a Broncos fan.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member, so at first I just went to church and did what I was told because that was what I was "supposed" to do. As I grew up, though, I started reading the scriptures for myself, and I started really praying, and I got answers. When I was 12, I took the challenge from the Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley to read through the Book of Mormon, and I read 1 Nephi 14:11, which essentially says that if you ask Heavenly Father in faith, believing that He will answer you, then He will give you answers. So I did this, and I got my answer that the Book of Mormon is true. Since then, I have only received more answers and more confirmations, as I have learned more about the Gospel and about faith, and about the love that my Heavenly Father has for me and for all those around me.

How I live my faith

I attend my meetings, I fill my callings, I strive to be a good visiting teacher, I study my scriptures, I pray, and I share my faith when I can. I try my best to love everyone around me. I try to offer service to those around me, the same way Christ did. I have recently been called to serve the Lord in the Colorado, Colorado Springs Mission. I absolutely love the opportunity to share my beliefs and my testimony with others, as well as to serve the people of Colorado Springs in other ways!
