Hi I'm Becca

I grew up in Ohio. I am in high school and look forward to growing up. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in 1996 and I have a twin brother. I've tried out a ton of different sports and activities in my short life and still haven't settled. I was baptized with my mom and step father, Tom, on November 29th, 2008 and my twin brother was baptized on August 4th, 2012. I look forward to graduating in 2014 and preparing to serve a mission after graduation. I live my life to the fullest and have amazing friends that cheer me on. I love my ward family and the cheerfulness they have. My favorite apostale is Jeffrey R. Holland. One of my biggest dreams is to meet him someday. I have way long hair and I would not trade it for the world! Yes, my hair is my security blanket. It makes me feel different from everybody else! I would also love to live somewhere down south where there is zero snow when I grow up. I like snow, but I also like change! I think I wrote enough.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I went to the church and it felt different from other churches that I've been to. I felt so welcomed and loved instantly. I haven't had the easiest ride becoming truly converted to the Gospel, but it happened with a lot of learning, thinking, praying, and tears. Good tears. I know Joseph Smith restored this church upon the earth. I don't know this because of what people tell me, but I know this because of a feeling of love and faith that I have when I listen to the Gospel teachings. There is no doubt in my mind or heart that this church is true. I know everything is right and that the Gospel is perfect. I can't wait to have a family and teach my kids the Gospel. I've witnessed the huge amount of lives that this Gospel has changed and I cannot be more thankful for it. It's changed mine a lot and I cannot imagine my life without this amount of love and peace! I'm so grateful for this Gospel and I cannot wait to keep living it.

How I live my faith

I'm only a youth, so I haven't had many callings. I have been in class presidencies the entire time I have been a member. I love setting an example and reaching out to people who are active and inactive in the church. I enjoy talking people up and boosting confidence! I'm always shy when nobody that I know is around, and it often takes at least one person I feel comfortable with to even start to act like myself. I hope to become more social and outgoing. I love going to baptisms and supporting people in their choices, especially young women who get baptized. I plan to serve a mission and meet many new people in the future. I read from the scriptures every night with my best friend and we both grow a huge amount from reading every night. I guarantee you that reading from the scriptures with a wholeheartedly and a desire to learn will help you grow as a person and closer to your heavenly father. You will also learn a ton about the people in the scriptures. I often find myself wanting to be like those people! I believe that anybody has the potential to be a disciple of Christ, as long as they work hard enough for it. It does take a bunch of work and faith to stay true to the Gospel but it is always worth it. The closer you are to your Heavenly Father, the more you'll get through trials and learn. I believe that having a strong relationship with him and having infinite faith in Christ is essential for living the gospel and becoming Christlike. I have learned so much since I got baptized and I do know that I am nowhere close to knowing everything. I look forward to learning more about the Gospel!

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is amazing! You get to be innocent and stand out. It's fun when people come up to me asking, "Are you a Mormon?" and when I tell them yes, they ask further questions. It truly is awesome. I like to set an example to people I come into contact with and make them wonder what is different about me. It's an on top of the world feeling when I resist temptation and people ask me why I don't drink, why I don't do drugs, why I don't wear bikinis, strapless tops, short shorts, and so on. I like answering questions to people who aren't familiar with the lifestyle that people of the LDS faith live. Show more Show less
