Hi I'm Amy

I love my family. I love penguins! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Amy and I come from a small family. I am an older sister, but my little sister is not that much younger than I am, so we are able to share and have a lot in common. My mother is an exceptional woman, she is a single parent to my sister and I, and I am grateful for her everyday. I love my Mexican heritage and I am grateful for being able to celebrate and embrace it. I was in college working toward nursing school, but I have put that on hold. I am currently serving as a missionary in the Canada and I am learning French, a language I never EVER thought I would learn. I`ve paused my normal life to serve others and to teach about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so greatful for this privledge. I love singing. I love taking pictures of landscapes and nature. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, and laughing with my little cousins. I love reading! Musical theater. I love to color in coloring books! I plan on learning how to play the saxophone and the cello one day. First instrument to tackle though will be the harmonica! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am able to say that I know that I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father. I know that I am his child. This knowledge brings me peace, it brings me joy, and it gives me hope. My mother is an amazing example to me. Even before I was born my father would come in and out of our family picture, until finally he decided to remove himself from it. My mother has shown incredible strength and faith. Her faith in God has allowed her to keep moving forward, her strength to trust in Him has allowed miracles in our lives. I have seen her example and I have sought to learn the source of her courage.Through my life there have been countless times when I wish that I had a father at home that was able to share my life experiences with me. Even though I was not blessed with this in this life, I know that I have been blessed in other ways. One is the knowledge that my Heavenly Father loves me, that he loves all his children here on Earth. Our Savior Jesus Christ loves us, He has helped us all to have the gift of being able to return to our Heavenly Father. Love and hope is an immense part of why I am a Mormon,

How I live my faith

Since my mother was baptized when I was five years old, we have been attending Spanish Speaking Branches. I had the privilege to be able to teach lessons on the scriptures to children ages eight to nine years of age. I am so grateful to be able to have the opportunity to teach these children. I always am able to learn something new from them and they make me smile and remember that our Heavenly Father loves them very much. Even though sometimes it can be hard for them to sit still and keep attention toward the lesson some Sundays, I have seen that these children know deep within themselves, that our Heavenly Father loves them very much. I have been able to witness that these children know that their eldest brother Jesus Christ loves them very much, because they are able to feel His love when they are around those who strive to serve them. I am grateful for the knowledge that these children have, because they are able to go toward their future with a confidence and surety that they are important because they know and feel that their Heavenly Father loves them and all of us.
