Hi I'm Jon

I am a devoted husband and father. I am a Renaissance fencing enthusiast of the Spanish style. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of three young children. I am attending graduate school and will soon be completing my Master's degree. I am a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism and I practice and teach Spanish style Renaissance fencing to youth and adults. My experiences as a missionary in Chile and my undergraduate degree in cultural geography have given me a diverse worldview and a love of other cultures and peoples. I hope to be able to travel with my family and experience the diversity that this world has to offer.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always sought the truth that God has to offer, and I find it in the light of the restored gospel. I find solace and comfort in the knowledge that God cannot lie, and in the blessings that He has promised me. I am so happy to know that I can be with my family forever, and I live my life to always be worthy of that blessing. I find direction in the guidance that God offers me through continued personal revelation and through the direction given by a living prophet. I am grateful to know that God cares about me and my individual needs, no matter how small.

How I live my faith

I am president of my church's men's group. This has given me the opportunity to teach and to serve the families both in my church and in my community. I have had the opportunity to use my knowledge of Spanish to serve others as well. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the men in my church and to help them as they grow in the gospel and seek the blessings of the temple. I am also grateful to be able to teach my own children the gospel from a very early age and I enjoy the new insights that their understanding offers me.
