Hi I'm Katie Brown

I'm a native Louisianan, a happy wife and mother, I make soap, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a mother of two wonderful children, and a wife to a devoted husband. I married my true love and my family is my greatest source of happiness. I like to develop my creative side by making soap and quilting. I also like to get outdoors; watching birds, hiking, fishing, swimming, and walking my dog are just some of the things I do with my family. I used to be a teacher and caretaker, I love to help people in need, it gives me peace.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught as a very young child about Jesus Christ and his teachings. I've been blessed with faith and as I have faced trials my testimony that this church is true has only grown. I've visited a lot of other churches to learn about them and I've never found anything like the Mormon church. I'm a firm believer that you don't need to be lost to find the truth. I was blessed to already have it but that doesn't mean I value it any less. Being a Mormon just means I have a correct understanding of the nature of our Heavenly Father, that He is our Father and that He loves us. This knowledge and the peace that our Savior's atonement brings to me is how I've been able to face trials and, through faith, be able to overcome them.

How I live my faith

I help to teach the women of our church about Jesus Christ and His teachings and atonement. I have a special interest in visiting the aging members of our church, listening to them, and growing to love them. I live my faith in the way I've raised my children and how I try to make my home a place of refuge and peace.
