Hi I'm Miken

I grew up in Idaho. I'm studying Health Science. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of two girls and the middle of five children. I'm going to college for Dental Hygiene. I love learning about the human body and how to take proper care of it. I enjoy snowboarding, cycling, and running. I'm a girly girl but love to do boy things such as riding quads and snow-machines. I'm a member of the Supply Kids Foundation which is a non-profit organization that provides school supplies to children around the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS religion but my family was not the ideal example of how Latter-Day saints live. Growing up I had to make the choice if the church was true on my own. I would always look back on experiences I have had when I felt the spirit strong. I remember my baptism and the warmth and lightness I felt that day. I also remember the day I spoke in church and the faith I had to be guided by the spirit to know what to say. I remember listening to other members testimonies and knowing the things they said are true. When I took time to read my scriptures, pray daily and do what is right and live the commandments of God I could see my happiness grow and blessings pour all over me. I know that being a Latter-Day Saint will bring me more joy then anything else, and I know that through this Church I will be able to return to my Father in Heaven and become like Him.

How I live my faith

I assist the women of the church to know what they are expected to do for their calling. I make sure the music is prepared each week and the teachers are prepared. I make plans with the president of the women in the ward I attend. Through my calling I am able to participate in my ward by sharing my insights and my testimony often.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Reading the words of our Father in Heaven in the scriptures can help us learn about Him. I think one of the most powerful ways is through prayer and feeling him love he has for each of us. Show more Show less
