Hi I'm Connor Jensen

I am Canadian. I play volleyball, basketball, and soccer. I go to school at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play sports. My three favorites are basketball, volleyball, and soccer, but especially volleyball. I was MVP for volleyball on the senior varsity team in high school. I plan on also trying out for the BYU men's volleyball team. I live in Canada, but go to school at BYU in Utah. I have one sister, who is two years younger than me. I served my mission in Halifax, Canada. I love having fun and goofing around, especially with friends at BYU. I love to watch hockey, especially if it's the Calgary Flames or team Canada.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but I always say that everyone's a convert. We all need to gain ur own testimony that Christ's gospel is true, through prayer and studying the scriptures. I know that this church has blessed my life immensely and that it can bless everyone's life as long as we all follow the commandments that have been given to us by the Lord. I can't even imagine where I'd be without the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As I served my mission, I developed such a love for the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. They truly are the words of life. I learned so much about the gospel and how it can bless us in our day-to-day activities. The gospel that is taught within this Church really is the gospel of Jesus Christ, restored to the earth through a prophet of God in this day and age. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true an living church upon the earth today. It contains the fulness of the everlasting gospel and it really is led by Jesus Christ Himself, through a prphet that has been called by God.

How I live my faith

I was a president of a twelve/thirteen-year-old group of kids, secretary to a fourteen/fifteen-year-old group of kids, and first counselor to a sixteen/seventeen-year-old group of kids. I served a full-time mission in the Canada Halifax English speaking mission. I love to serve the Lord in all that I say and do. And love to share my religion with others ad do service for those that need it. I was in the scouting program for a good deal of my life, as well as cubs and blazers before that. I study my scriptures daily and do my best to be a good person. The Book of Mormon says "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." I try my best to live by this scripture and serve all those around me in any way that I can.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Connor Jensen
The purpose of this life is to have joy. "Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have joy." We will experience pain and sorrow in this life, too; that's just a part of life. However, God has given us the pathway to true happiness both in this life and the life to come. He has given us the commandments, which, if we follow them, will bless us with peace and joy that breaking those same commandments could never bring. Our end goal is to experience eternal life by living with God and our families for eternity. This will bring us never ending joy. It's our decisions in this life that will permit us to experience that eternal life. We are being tested and tried to prove our faithfulness to God. When we endure these trials well and never allow our faith in Him to falter, then will we be saved in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb. Show more Show less
