Hi I'm Anthony David Collins

I grew up in Windsor, California. God found me here and gave me more than i could ever ask of Him. I AM a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Anthony. My interests....hmmm. Well i am very into sports. The sports i have played are: volleyball, badminton, baseball, soccer, hockey, football, track and cross country. I have worked at a few places. my most recent job was at a yogurt shop and my last three jobs were a advertising mailing company, Kohls department store and a lab. My absolute favorite hobbies is going to Jump on it or ice skating. Jump on it is a place were there are trampolines the cover the floors and the walls and you can do all kinds of tricks there.

Why I am a Mormon

Well i grew up in a dysfunctional setting. My mom was an alcoholic. This caused my parents to divorce early on in my life. My mom was always in and out of my life because of her addiction. My dad ended up remarrying. My new step mom was very strict. she liked things to be very clean. my sister and i didn't get along with her so we left. My sister moved in with my grandmother and there wasn't space for me so i moved in with a friend. During this time I had been praying for direction and a new family. One day God gave me a feeling to go talk to this random person I have never seen before at school. Which I would never do because I was shy. But he gave me the strength to say hi. I ended up becoming best friends with this person. One day they invited me into there home. The very second i walked into their house I felt something different. I had no idea what it was. It felt peaceful, loving, and warm. I was quickly in tears. I knew this is how I wanted to be with my dad and how I wanted my future family to feel. I started asking them questions about life and how they are all so close. They started me meeting with missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I ended up following Christs example and was baptized. I know God answer my prayers. He gave me the strength to talk to this friend. I felt the spirit when I walked into their home. I learned what true happiness, joy, charity, and love actually is. I have never looked back on my choice to join the church.

How I live my faith

In my ward i am a primary teacher. I very recently was called to this position. I am very excited to share my knowledge to my younger brethren! my previous calling was assistant librarian. This was also very fun and it taught me how to use a copier machine. I also helped out in shared ministries. Shared ministries is when we make a lunch for the less fortunate and serve it to them. I have also given talks to share my faith and to teach my ward family.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Anthony David Collins
Find a friend that is a member of the Mormon Church (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). They can share with you their testimony and they can set up a meeting for you with some missionaries. Something I see a lot is members inviting their friends over to their house and having the missionaries teach them there. So you can learn about the gospel in a friendly environment just in case you are afraid of awkwardness. Show more Show less
