Hi I'm Leslie

I'm from The Bay Area. I speak fluent Spanglish. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the 4th most dangerous city in the United States in a Mexican home. I learned at a young age that I have possessed nothing, but in the midst of that I have possessed everything. I grew up in a loving family that is far from average, but the perfect fit for me. Tortillas and frijoles were always a must in my home. I love jamming on my ukulele and singing my heart out. I hear a beat and I start to dance. I love the smell outside right after it rains. I'm an avid Golden State Warriors and BYU basketball fan. Warm nights, cold pillows, and a glass of lemonade make my life. I love art. I can go to a museum and look at paintings for hours on end. I loved growing up in the Bay Area because I have met people from all over the world with so many unique backgrounds and cultures. I love food a little too much! I wish I had a pet koala and that I lived in a world where I didn't need to wear shoes.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because there is nothing in my life has made me happier. I am able to focus on the things that matter most and that is serving others and loving them. I have found a true purpose to my life. I am not just a little speck floating in a massive universe. I have a worth, a purpose, and a divinity. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who knows my name, my heart, and loves me more than words can express. I am a Mormon because I know that this is the church Jesus Christ established on the earth. I know that my Savior Jesus Christ died for me so that I could live with Him again if I repent for my sins. I know that God sees me as more than what I am, but as the person I can become. I believe the Book of Mormon along with the Bible are the words of God and examples as to how much He loves His children. I know that God continues to communicate with us through a prophet like in the times of old. I know that my family can be together forever through the blessings of the temple. I know that God has never abandoned me because every little thing from the sun shine to a sweet smile is a proof of His tender mercies. I know that I lived with God and that I can live with Him again through following the commandments. I am a Mormon because all of the teachings coincide with living a better life. I have never felt a greater peace than when I try my best to follow the example of my Savior Jesus Christ in deed and in thought.

How I live my faith

I live my faith a day at a time. My faith comes from acknowledging that everything I have ever done and anything I will ever do is only possible through the strength God gives me because He loves me. I live my faith by keeping a relationship with Him through daily prayer and scripture study. I live my faith by attending church every Sunday to further remember the promise I made to my Heavenly Father to be worthy of the name of His son by taking the sacrament. I live my faith by being kind to others no matter who they are, where they come from, or what they believe. I live my faith by learning to be patient with others and with myself. I live my faith by trusting that God knows what is best for me and that no matter the sharp turns of life, He will guide me towards true happiness. I truly live my faith by realizing that I am not perfect, but I can still try my best to live according to the example that was set by my Savior Jesus Christ.
