Hi I'm Khira

I'm a California girl, a BYU-Idaho student, a soon to be Missionary in Montana and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am no more than your average 21 year old student who loves to cook and loves music. I grew up in the hustle and bustle of southern California where I struggled with finding out who I was. Some could say I was a little spoiled, being the oldest child with just a younger brother to entertain me. However, three beautiful angels entered my life when I was ten years old. My parents adopted three little children all under the age of three, siblings themselves, and my world turned upside down. They all have special needs including all three with ADD and one with aspergers. They are my life and I love them dearly. They changed who I was and made me a better person. We then moved to a smallllll little town outside of Fresno California where I finished up high school with a population of 543 students. I love being a country girl! I am currently a college student at Brigham Young University- Idaho majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Theater. I recently just received my mission call and will be headed off to Billings Montana very soon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon and it is all I am. Not is it just a church that I attend every Sunday, it is my life, Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father is my life. My goal is to return to them someday and to be embraced in their arms. I want my family to be there and my husband to be with me for all eternity and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Mormon church, teaches that families are forever, sealed together for time and all eternity. I believe it with every fiber in my being. As I kid, I did what Mom and Dad did. They went to church and so did I. I always knew that being in the Mormon church felt right, it felt good and I was happy. Between the ages or 12-15 I really found for myself that this is the Church for me and that this is the only true church upon the earth. It just all made sense. I knew that the Book of Mormon was true, so that meant the Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that meant all his teaches where true and I know that they are. This gospel brings me so much joy and happiness! What more is one seeking for? To know God has a plan for you and this plan is the plan of happiness and brings families together for all eternity! How could you not want that? It is this happiness that the gospel brings to me that I will share it with the people of Montana for 18 months! I will share Jesus Christs love for them and bring happiness in their lives. I am his instrument and his servant. I will go where he wants me to go.

How I live my faith

Being born and raised in the Mormon Church I have had many opportunities to serve among my community and with my own ward family. From a young age I gave talks and loved to sing in primary. When I was six I even sang my own solo in church and started to cry! I sang through the whole song and there was not one dry eye in the congregation! When I was 12 I started to serve the community more with service projects and other activities. They were my favorite! Maybe it was just because there was treats after...When I graduated from High School I was then able to have more callings in the Church. I taught other college men and women, played the piano and helped with ward actives. My favorite was teaching...I know that teaching is my calling in life and that God has given me these talents to teach and to help others. All I have is because of him. I currently have the opportunity to go to Montana and teach and help the people there find the Joy in Jesus Christ and to show them his love for them. Everyone should have the opportunity to here of his good news and to feel his love for them as children of God.
