Hi I'm Art

I am a sixth generation Mormon. Married with five children. Lived in France, DC, Anchorage, Homer,Bullfrog, Panguitch,

About Me

I grew up in SLC, and spent much time in the Uintah Mountains Brighton, and in Southern Utah. I love the out of doors, am an avid fisherman, camper, hiker, biker and have a passion for traveling. I think that I am a true gypsy for I must see what is on the other side of the hill and love to sleep out every night. I served a mission to France (64-66). Worked in Washington, DC,, returned to SlC to marry my sweetheart in 1971. We went on a honeymoon to Alaska and stayed for ten years. Can't get over the thrill of catching salmon and halibut, or being a father. (Five children, ten grand children). My head is filled with music.. I love the Beachboy's (60's kid), classical, bluegrass, country, blues and good music altogether. I am a retired World Language teacher of forty years. I taught early morning Seminary and Institute in Achorage, Alaska. As a family, we have been players in the Palmyra Pageant, did the re-creation of the original Mormon Trek for the sesquicentennial in 1997, spent many a Christmas in Mexico, cross country skied, hiked, camped and climbed, fished, waterskied, and really enjoyed each other. I have been in Boy Scouting for over 50 years, received the Silver Beaver award and was just released as Young Men's President (the oldest in the church I suspect), and am currently Cubmaster. My wife and I just received our mission call to serve in the Spain Barcelona Mission. We are hyped!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a sixth generation Mormon, but I believe that we cannot rely solely on our heritage or tag along on someone's coat tails. We each must truly be converted to the gospel and to Christ. We have to rely on the spirit to find out what we believe is true.

How I live my faith

I truly believe that we are to serve one and other, and that we are all one World Family. People ask; " Brother Clark, where do you find the time to do that?" I tell them that by special dispensation, I was given an extra twelve hours in the day that was meant to be used helping others, and my day is really thirty six hours long. So I have more time to do it than others do. Then I ask them to join me and promise them that they will also receive extra hours in the day for doing good.
