Hi I'm Daniel

I grew up in Salt Lake City. I want to design things that make our lives less frustrating. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy the outdoors. I especially like to be up in the mountains, where I can feel closer to the vast blue sky. I feel nearer to heaven in the quiet moments to be found in nature. My family likes the outdoors too -- my parents are the ones who kindled in me a love for nature and being active outdoors. I'm a student at a university; I'm in my second year of study in mechanical engineering. I find outer space beautiful and fascinating. As a boy I dreamed of being an astronaut. I think that technology and computers are neat and a real blessing. Family history and genealogy are important to me. That's because knowing our ancestors builds us and develops our sense of identity. One of my interests is robotics. I think that robots are fun to build and watch them act out their programming.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have found the truth about God and His Son, Jesus Christ, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have learned that God has provided the way for me to be with my family forever. That means so much to me. I'm a Mormon because I've found the way to repent of my mistakes and sins. I'm a Mormon because I've read the Book of Mormon and come to know that it's true. It has changed me to want to be a more virtuous man, and a true follower of Jesus Christ. I have seen it change the lives of many people and families for the better as I served as a missionary in Brazil.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving my God; I serve Him by serving everyone around me. In my ward, I serve in three main ways. I am part of what's called the family history committee. The committee helps people begin to research their own ancestors, and also learn how to make old paper documents available online, a process called indexing. The second calling I have is that of home teacher. Home teaching is a great way to serve other families in my ward. I go with my companion to serve and teach the gospel to a few families that the two of us are responsible for. When I home teach with my companion, I get a little taste of the love that Heavenly Father has for that person or family. Third, I work in a local temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints once a week.
