Hi I'm Luis

I have always lived in Utah, I am a Computer Geek, I work as an IT administrator, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have Lived in Utah my entire Life. Today I am a Father of two, and am married to my wonderful wife Brenda. I am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. I Lived in Brazil for two years. I am a Software Technician and an IT Systems Administrator. I recently completed a CCNA certification at a local trade school. I love reading Fantasy, and Science Fiction Novels. I enjoy music, from choral music to playing the guitar. I love ballroom dancing.

Why I am a Mormon

Since I can remember my parents always have taught me the values that the Mormon church teaches. I have always done my best to live up to the example that my parents gave me. When I was fifteen years old, however I wanted to know for my self whether or not the principles I had lived my entire life were true. That is when I chose to read the book of mormon for the first time. I had read parts here and there in the past, but never the entire book. I read the Book of Mormon, and prayed to ask if it was true. The answer I had was not screaming to me that it was true, I thought for a while that I never received an answer. Not knowing any other life style I continued with what I knew made me happy. This was participating actively in the Mormon church. I made many similar choices as the friends that surrounded me at the time. When I was 20 I went on a Mission for the Mormon church to teach others what we believe. It was then that I recognized the answer that I received when I was 15 years old. Serving others, participating in the Mormon church as a youth, then a leader, A missionary and now a Teacher for children brings happiness to my life. I know that this happiness comes from living a Christlike . From living true values. I know that the teachings in this church are true. Because I Know that the Book of Mormon is true, that Jesus Christ lived and died for us. Most of all that he lives today, and because of that we can be with our families forever. Sharing this is what makes me truly happy, and This is why I am a Mormon today.

How I live my faith

As a child my parents instilled a great love of the Mormon church. I always have strived to be obedient to the most basic teachings I had learned as a member of the church. While I was in my youth I surrounded myself with friends that had the same values as I did. I learned early in life that as a Mormon I could best help others by service. As a Mormon I participated fully in the Boy Scouts of America, and joined several groups in High School that allowed me to provide such service to those less fortunate than I. As a Mormon missionary I had the privilege of serving the people of Brazil. Today I still love providing service wherever it is needed. I love seeing the happy faces of those that have received help. I serve within the Mormon church teaching children between the ages of 9 - 10. I also am part of a group of male members of the Mormon church that provides service to all those that need it.

In whom should we have faith?

We need to have faith in Jesus Christ. Having faith in Jesus Christ means that we trust him, and the teachings he gave. In doing so we can get closer to him and live a live akin to the life he lead. This does not mean to merely believe that he existed. Aside from believing the Christ exists, we must follow his teachings, and constantly ask out Heavenly Father (God) for counsel and direction in the name of Jesus Christ. We need to act, through service, and good deeds among our fellow man. All this shows our belief and faith in Christ. Show more Show less
